![]() Second battle, Amaya discovers she's again under-equiped to fight Janai. So Amaya's sword swiftly gets the pointy-end cut off by Janai's magical metal-melting sword.Īmaya lobs the remaining half-sword at the elf, uses dodges and shield blocking, kicks the elf in the chest, then rides the fuck away on horseback. Janai has a fucking magic solar-powered sword that slices through stuff like a hot knife through butter. The first battle with the sun elves, she faces off with Janai. Her character design and fight choreography is stylish af. Thoughtful, honourable, compassionate and smart. He starts losing sight of his goal to destroy the elves/dragons in his quest for power (otherwise why would he listen to an elf?)Īaravos is manipulating Viren for reasons not entirely known, but some of it is clearly to empower his little bug and escape wherever he is imprisoned. In his quest to destroy the elves/dragons, he seeks power. He still thinks he's protecting humanity but his actions say otherwise. He loses sight of his goal to protect humanity in his obsession with destroying the elves/dragons. He decides that they must destroy the elves/dragons. He started by wanting to protect humanity. To control the power himself since he can't trust others to listen to what he says.Īnd now, in his quest for power, he is even losing sight of why he sought power to begin with. Power to command humanity to listen to him when they ignored his warnings, power to destroy the elves/dragons. He was power-hungry and ambitious all along, but only after the meeting of the pentarchy failed and he started talking to Aaravos did he truly become power-hungry. Aaravos was there offering him a way to escape defeat. He would have whole-heatedly supported Amaya if she sat on the throne and signed "gather the armies and invade Xadia."īut when Viren's ploy with the kingsmoot failed, he grew desperate. Part of Viren's desire for the crown of Katolis was pure greed, but the larger part was simply to have a decisive leader directing them against the elves. Why? Because Viren (at least after the assassination) wants humanity to have a strong leader directing them against the elves. Yet he also asks Amaya to sit on the throne. Viren tried to lead Katolis to war against the elves immediately after Harrow's death. He decides the only way to do this is to destroy the elves/dragons, and along the way he loses sight of his original goal. Viren's goal started off as protecting humanity from the elves/dragons. Viren is terrified of what the elves and dragons could do to humanity, to lay waste to them if they wanted. Yet right before Harrow's death, Harrow ordered him to kneel. Harrow (and maybe Sarai) are the only influences holding him back, trying to draw him towards a narrative of love rather then strength. Without dark magic, humanity would be helpless to stop them. ![]() His nightmare is an archdragon, a dozen dragons and an army of elves laying waste to humanity. ![]() He sees humanity as weak and helpless compared to elves. ![]() Remember Harrow's line about a narrative of strength vs a narrative of love? Viren only sees a narrative of strength. Think you've been wrongfully banned from our Discord server and want to prove it? Anything above that threshold will be removed.
